BIOGRAPH TIMES: Our Dinner with Gatsby

One of the most famous meals in movie history, the dinner in "My Dinner With Andre" (1981), was prepared in part by Richmond's legendary chef/restaurant owner/caterer, Chris Gibbs. That happened because most of that film's footage was shot in Richmond, on a set built inside the Jefferson Hotel fashioned to look like a slick restaurant -- Café des Artistes. For each day of the two weeks of shooting, Gibbs showed up with a fresh batch of Cornish hens and wild rice.

Hey, no matter how tasty the food was, the stars of that art movie, Andre Gregory and Wally Shawn, must have gotten pretty tired of eating the same stuff all day long for two weeks.
